From 2016 to 2024, The Elm City Echoes placed third and fourth in the Area 1 competition and qualified to compete in the Harmony, Inc. International competition.
Quartet competition:
The quartet Wired4Sound placed first in 2024, scoring the highest performance score for a two-song package. It was a great show by a talented group of women.
Fredericton Music Festival
Every year in April, the Elm City Echoes chorus and the quartet Wired4Sound participate in the choral and group classes of the Fredericton Music Festival. This competition provides an excellent experience for the chorus members preparing for the Area 1 Contest in June. The chorus competes against local choirs, including the River Valley Chorus, a mixed barbershop chorus, and a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Over the years the Elm City Echoes have placed both first and second.
The Elm City Echoes also donates a $100 scholarship to the Fredericton Music Festival every year to help fund emerging young performers' musical training and coaching.
